BHS operates one of the nation’s largest specialty preferred provider organizations (PPO), which is comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, EAP providers as well as facility networks including hospitals, rehab/residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs. BHS fully credentials and panels their own network of providers.

Current Opportunity: Billing Clerk

Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Full-time/Part-time: This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position

Salary: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour plus competitive benefits offering

What you will do:

Under the day-to-day supervision of the Director of Claims, Safety First, this position is responsible for assisting in the daily/monthly activities of drug test processing, centralized billing, input of daily charges, clerical support, and other general duties

Responsibilities:
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry input related to invoice processing, provider files, and related files and reports.
  • Process third party provider payments.  Communicate with providers to request any missing records and to resolve any inaccurate charges.
  • Manage all incoming calls, faxes, and emails from providers regarding invoice status.
  • Provide administrative support in client month-end billing process.
  • Assist in analysis of data generated, as directed.
  • Maintain orderly and accurate files, records, and reports on a timely basis.
  • Update and maintain computerized collection site and laboratory provider list and related computerized data.
  • Perform general clerical, mail, marketing support and other duties as directed.
  • Reconcile and verify accuracy of all information entered and generated.
  • Provide back-up support to the Director of Claims and Claims Analyst as directed.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as directed.  Attend meetings as directed.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • High School diploma
  • Proficiency on PC (Microsoft Word, Excel), 10-key calculator
  • 11,000+ KPH
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines/handle interruptions
  • Cooperative attitude and self-starter
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
