Atlassian Jira Technical Lead/ Administrator
WORKPLACE OPTIONS is looking for a passionate Atlassian Jira Technical Leader/Administrator to help WPO achieve their goals by shaping, governing, and scaling Jira-based solutions for agile delivery across the enterprise. The Jira Lead will have hands-on experience in Jira development and administration with a strong ability to create and manage dashboards, workflows, custom fields, automation rules, and CI/CD pipelines and set the technical direction for Atlassian tools, mentor administrators and developers

Role Responsibilities
- Lead the design of scalable Jira architecture including projects, workflows, permission models, and automation frameworks that support multiple portfolios and programs.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership to a small team of Jira power users, guiding them on best practices and reviewing scripts, automation rules, integrations & configurations.
- Drive integration strategy between Jira and other enterprise platforms (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, identity providers, HR systems, and reporting platforms).
- Define and own the Jira and Confluence solution design for projects and programs, ensuring scalable workflows, permission models, and automation that support multiple teams.
- Oversee complex initiatives such as Jira Cloud/Data Center migrations, consolidations, and large-scale onboarding of new teams or acquisitions.
- Design, implement, and administer enterprise-level Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence solutions
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to track project progress, resource utilization, and SLAs
Candidate must have:
- 8–10 years of overall experience in enterprise software environments, with 7+ years focused on Jira/Atlassian administration and solution design.
- Deep expertise in Jira Software and Jira Service Management configuration: complex workflows, custom fields, schemes, advanced automation, and SLAs.
- Strong architectural understanding of Jira Cloud and/or Data Center, including scaling strategies, multi-instance governance, and security/permission models.
- Experience designing and overseeing integrations using Atlassian REST APIs, webhooks, or connectors with CI/CD pipelines and middleware
- Hands-on experience with key Atlassian marketplace apps/ plugins such as ScriptRunner or similar tools to extend Jira capabilities (post-functions, listeners, bulk updates, and advanced JQL).
- Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and ITIL/ITSM practices, and how to translate these into Jira configurations and reporting.
- Ability to define KPIs and dashboards for executives, product managers, and delivery teams, and to standardize reporting across portfolios.
