What you will do:

Workplace Options (WPO) seeks a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that deliver high‑quality data for analytics, reporting, and data‑driven decision‑making. The role involves close collaboration with application teams to ensure data is efficiently collected, transformed, stored, and made accessible across the organization. 

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and enhance scalable data pipelines (both batch and real-time) using modern data processing technologies to meet analytical and operational objectives.
  • Work with data analysts and engineering teams to collect data requirements and convert them into technical specs.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipeline performance
  • Develop and refine data ingestion frameworks integrating multiple internal and external data sources.
  • Automate key data processes such as ingestion, transformation, and validation to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for data solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security standards.
  • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related software engineering roles.
  • Hands-on SSIS development experience, providing end-to-end support on projects—including designing robust metadata models, building efficient ETL pipelines, and maintaining scalable data structures.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining data models using Python, SQL, and Spark—including ETL component design/build, and object-relational mapping.
  • Proven expertise in building data warehouses on Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery, with strong knowledge of data modelling techniques like star schema and dimensional modelling.
  • Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale datasets.
  • Hands-on with Databricks, Data Lake and SQL knowledge is a must.
  • Work independently, proactively and drive deliveries to closure by finalizing planning, estimates and resources requirements
  • Strong communication skills, team collaboration, ability to work independently under pressure, and sharp logical/analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrate courteousness and respect to people across diverse cultures, age groups and varied business groups
