Workplace Options is seeking an On-Site EAP Counsellor in Chennai. This individual will be available to employees transitioning back into the workplace to provide support to better balance work, health, and life challenges. The ideal candidate must possess expertise in providing corporate leaders and managers with coaching and consultative support, delivering coaching and training to employees, and providing crisis support when needed.

Shift hours : 9.30 am to 6.30 pm IST
Languages required: English and Tamil.
What you will do:
We are seeking a mental health clinician licensed to practice independently in India who is passionate about helping others, a strong team player, has excellent verbal and written communication skills, is diligent in time-management, has proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and is confident in public speaking. Executive coaching experience preferred.
As part of a global team, the onsite clinician provides integrated clinical services within the Client Organisation at the individual, management, and organisational level. This role serves to support employees in maintaining workplace engagement and performance, while supporting the Client Organisation in enhancing the mental wellbeing of its workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Intake and assessment, triage, brief counselling, referrals to external vendors for wraparound support, and crisis management.
- Management consultations to leaders in areas such as managing individual employee situations, crisis intervention, assessment and intervention around organizational needs and internal strategy, and leadership development.
- Completes assessments with clients expressing various issues (e.g. substance use, mental health conditions, workplace concerns, relationship needs, and family concerns) that may be impacting work performance.
- Delivers short-term counselling services as appropriate in a responsive, efficient, ethical, confidential, and professional manner.
- Maintains knowledge of and builds relationships with partner vendors for wraparound services. Makes referrals as appropriate and in a timely manner.
- Manages own schedule; demonstrates flexibility in handling urgent situations as they arise.
- Facilitates trainings within scope of practice to a variety of audiences in size and seniority
- Provides support to regions outside of India as required to support global team upon request
- Supports, engages, and guides a community of employee mental health champions
- Provides clinical input for policy/ program designs around mental wellbeing as requested by the Client Organisation
- Engages in activities that promote mental health awareness and onsite clinician services
- Maintains accurate, timely clinical documentation in computerised system.
- Adheres to the applicable ethical, therapeutic, and legal standards which govern service delivery, as well as policies, procedures, and laws pertaining to clinical licensure, employer, and Client Organisation.
- Undertakes additional tasks as identified by Clinical Management/Client Organisation.
- Master’s degree or diploma in Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years post-graduate counselling experience.
- Experience working with diverse populations globally.
- Experience working with acute trauma and Critical Incidents.
- Experience with developing and presenting trainings around a variety of topics. PowerPoint or equivalent proficiency required.
- EAP knowledge and experience working with legal/HR teams.
- Experience working in a corporate environment.
- Required languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi (preferred).
