Job Description: Jira Support Engineer

What you will do:

The Jira Support Engineer will be responsible for administering, configuring, and supporting Jira environments for business and technical teams. We are looking for a candidate with strong Jira administration capabilities, including automation and scripting, along with solid organizational and communication skills, all of which are essential for ensuring smooth operations and user support.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure and administer Jira platforms including JSM, Jira Software, and Jira Product Discovery
  • Integrate Jira with third-party tools (CI/CD, monitoring, CRM systems) via APIs and webhooks
  • Provide L2/L3 support and troubleshooting for Jira-related issues
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs for stakeholders
  • Manage and optimize Confluence spaces, templates, and knowledge bases
  • Implement and maintain AI-driven workflows using Atlassian Rovo agents

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Jira ecosystem tools
  • Strong understanding of Jira workflows, schemes, screens, fields, permission management, and configurations.
  • Experience in Jira automation (Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, or similar).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, or Python is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in: Jira Service Management (JSM); Jira Software (Scrum/Kanban boards); Jira Product Discovery; Confluence administration
  • Experience with Rovo agents or similar AI-based workflow tools
  • Solid understanding of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and automation scripting
  • Knowledge of user management, permissions, and security models
  • Experience with marketplace apps (e.g., ScriptRunner, Insight/Assets, Tempo is a plus)
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand business processes and map them into Jira workflows
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
