What you will do:

Workplace Options requires a DBA Specialist to design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture frameworks and strategies.

As a SQL Server & DBA Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining database health, optimizing performance through query tuning and indexing, ensuring reliable backup and disaster recovery procedures, and automating routine tasks while maintaining comprehensive documentation.


Responsibilities:
  • Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances with regular maintenance tasks
  • Monitoring & Health Management: Monitor database health and set up comprehensive alerting using SQL Server Agent and third-party tools
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize queries; design indexing strategies and tune parameters to resolve bottlenecks
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Execute regular backups and develop comprehensive disaster recovery procedures with failover testing
  • Security & Compliance: Manage access controls and implement database encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted) ensuring GDPR/HIPAA/SOX compliance
  • High Availability & Replication: Design high availability solutions (Always-On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering) and manage replication
  • Cloud & Multi-Database Support: Manage Azure SQL Database, elastic pools, and support MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL environments
  • ETL & Reporting: Schedule and monitor ETL jobs; configure report subscriptions and delivery mechanisms
  • Automation & Documentation: Develop PowerShell scripts and maintain comprehensive database architecture documentation

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Overall 7+ years of experience in Database Administration & Database Design
  • SQL Server Expertise: Strong expertise in SQL Server (2012, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2022) and Proficiency in T-SQL programming and query optimization
  • Database Management & Tools: Hands-on experience with SSIS (ETL), SSRS (reporting), SSMS, and SQL Server Agent
  • Cloud & Multi-Database Support: Azure SQL Database and cloud management; experience with MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
  • Database Design & Operations:
    • Relational database design, normalization, high availability (Always-On, Failover Clustering)
    • Backup, recovery, disaster recovery, performance monitoring, and database security/encrypti
  • Modern Data Stack & Cloud Platforms (Preferred): Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified Data Administrator Associate or SQL Server certifications, Azure Data Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect certifications
  • Data Architecture & Warehousing (Preferred): Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data lakes, and Lakehouse architecture.
  • ETL/ELT & Integration (Preferred) : Background in ETL/ELT processes and data integration platforms.
  • Automation, Monitoring & Governance (Preferred): PowerShell scripting, third-party monitoring tools (Redgate), and enterprise-scale data governance programs.
